A Bach Flower combination is a mixture of different Bach Flower remedies. Bach Flowers Essences are extracts from flowers from plants, trees and shrubs, which are obtained through the cooking or sun method. The energy of the flowers is therefore transferred into the water and retained through the alcohol.
By adding alcohol the Bach Flower remedies remain indefinitely preserved. Because of legal regulations an expiry date needs to be mentioned on the bottle. In principle this date cannot be set longer than 3 years after production. In practise however, Bach Flowers, once the alcohol has been added, will keep their energetical qualities.
Bach Flower remedies is about the energy of the flowers and not the physical substance. For a Bach Flower remedies combination these drops of alcohol will be added to water. Which Bach Flowers are added, will be dependent on the state of mind of the person. Dr. Bach distinguished 38 different flowers which all have a specific emotion they correlate and act on. The ultimate skill within Bach Flower therapy is to select the right Bach Flower according to the present state of mind. The combination needs to be limited to six or seven different Bach Flowers.
A standard Bach Flower remedies combination bottle lasts for about one month. It is possible that the bottle is finished faster when the drops are taken more frequently. When the emotions are very strong and effect you a lot, it is best to raise the standard dosage of 6 x 4 drops to 8 to 10 x 4 drops per day. This way the bottle will only last for less than a month.
During such a short period the bottle will not expire. The only thing that could happen is that the water starts to get a strange taste because the eye-dropper has been in touch with your saliva. Saliva contains a lot of bacteria which end up in the Bach Flower bottle, this causing a bad taste in the bottle.
